Players might be answer to three dimensional TV sales
Players could be among the key marketplaces driving three dimensional TV sales, based on research presented Thursday in the three dimensional Gaming Summit.Serta Casey, senior Vice president at research firm Interpret, stated the business's surveys reveal that players would rather experience three dimensional playing console games before a bigscreen three dimensional TV. Consequently, players are showing almost double the amount curiosity about three dimensional TV as non-players.Satisfaction among customers who've attempted three dimensional in a medium remains high, stated Casey. However some players know about three dimensional gaming, most haven't attempted it yet. "This is a huge chance," stated Casey.Despite high satisfaction, three dimensional players were split on whether stereoscopic viewing enhanced action. 28% stated it detracted from game play, while 20% stated it enhanced game play.Casey stated consumer education is essential anytime three dimensional is introduced in new items. "three dimensional is an extremely confusing technology to numerous people," he stated. Contact David S. Cohen at david.cohen@variety.com
